Fellwood patch notes
From the demo's 64 logs to Hotfix 1.0.1 — the changes that rewrite how you prestige.
This page is a reader’s timeline, not a dump of every Steam news HTML tag. It exists so the rest of the wiki can agree on facts. When a sentence on Wizards says Electro is not 100×, this is why. When Logs and Acorns says 64 variations, this is why. When Controls mentions a delayed level-up box, this is why. Official posts always win; Links points at them.
Demo update — logs, events, additive damage
Allerton Apps thanked demo players on Steam and Discord, then shipped three headline changes:
- Log variations. Players said the pile was boring. Drop logic now keys off damage and luck. The table grew from a small set to 64 variations, including size differences. Golden types exist. A later line in the same era made the double gold log value prestige apply to all golden variations.
- Random events, named in the same post: Timber Rush (logs fall from the sky; tier follows your pile), Fellstorm (lightning on 50+ active logs, nearby logs gain a tier), and Lucky Breeze (clovers; manual shots add luck until prestige; worker shots do not count). Details on Events.
- Additive damage. Multiplicative math made one building the only strategy. Additive math lowers the silly ceilings and keeps the whole roster viable. Electro still received a slight damage and scaling buff. Fire received crit on its previous damage upgrade so it would not fall off. Archer damage and crit ticked up. Axe ricochet chance soft-caps near 90%, count near 8.
Other demo-era notes that still matter: prestige rerolls were not applying immediately (fixed), tier 5 damage and luck values were nudged up. If your memory of the demo is “stack Electro,” your memory is out of date. Read the Buildings Hub as if the patch was the real tutorial.
Launch — August 14, 2026
Fellwood launched at 10:00 AM EDT for $6.99 with 10% off for a short window. Josh’s post thanked wishlist, demo feedback, and people who made videos. The store promises 17 buildings, 80+ prestige upgrades, 100+ level-up options, active abilities, events, and projectile tiers. The Review is the opinion layer. This page only records that 1.0 exists and the pre-release flag is gone.
A demo remains downloadable. Full-release portraits (Mages, Engineers) are still the unlock mystery on How to Unlock Buildings. Do not treat demo lockouts as live lockouts without checking the plateau after a few prestiges.
Hotfix 1.0.1
Shipped right after launch:
- Slightly increased the delay before you can select level-up options, to stop accidental picks.
- Fixed log tooltip flicker.
That is a small note with a large quality-of-life shadow. Accidental cards were eating Active Abilities clicks. Flicker made Collectors and Sawmill pile clicks feel cursed. If 1.0.1 did not fix your specific bug (FPS limiter, inverted aiming, glued HQ/mill scrollbars), it is still open — see Controls and the Steam discussions via Links.
How to apply notes to a live camp
- If you have not prestiged since the additive change, prestige. Your muscle memory is wrong.
- If gold logs look weak, check the all-variants prestige node.
- If Fire feels dead, confirm you own the crit-fix line and a front slot.
- If Electro looks godlike, compare upgrade investment before filing a bug.
- If clovers do nothing, you are not manual-firing.
The Prestige Planner already assumes these notes. Getting Started assumes them. System Requirements does not; hardware did not change in 1.0.1.
Sibling pages in this category: the hub, the review, the requirements. Sibling gameplay: buildings, events, prestige. When 1.0.2 lands, it starts here.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the questions Fellwood players ask after their first prestige.
What did Hotfix 1.0.1 change in Fellwood?
It delayed level-up card selection to prevent misclicks and fixed a flickering log tooltip. Larger balance already landed in the demo update.
When did damage become additive?
During the demo update that also added 64 log variations and clover/lightning events. Launch uses that ruleset.
Did the gold-log prestige get fixed?
Yes. The double gold log value upgrade now applies to all golden log variations, not a single sprite.
